(More customer reviews)I am amazed that with all the new and glossy DVDs we own, that The White Seal is such a huge hit with my 4 year old daughter. She's never asked to watch the new computer animated Care Bears movie or the colorful My Little Pony movie over and over like this one. She loves the white seal and is interested in the story. I originally bought this, Mowgli's Brothers, and Rikki Tikki Tavi because Rikki was a HUGE favorite with my 1st grade class decades ago when I was little. So when my daughter, wanting something new, went through my DVD collection and asked to watch these stories, I was curious how they'd hold up next to all the new kid stuff. But it is facinating how classics never die and will be forever loved by children no matter how out of date they look. This is definitely old style animation and not shiny and glossy like some of the Disney clean ups, but it is is clear enough and a joy to watch-- great story and narration. No sarcasm or crazy weird animated segments-- just a good straight forward story.
