(More customer reviews)DIGIVIEW's slimline cased DVDs feature unrestored public domain films that have no subtitles or extras beyond plot synopses on their back covers. Dubs are "best available source" and can vary from very good to only fair. Audio levels are however some of the highest you'll find, which makes these ideal for laptop PC or portable disc player watching.
Highlights of this set are a George Pal WWII short in support of Dutch freedom fighters, a vintage Gumby Claymation and five classic Merrie Melodies. None of these dubs are pristine. Colors aren't as vibrant as in studio released animation, yet for the price this is a worthwhile set. Related item:

PORKY'S PRIZE PONY (1941) [wb] - Porky's mount gets loaded on linament and a clumsy milk wagon nag with dreams of glory takes over.
PEST PUPIL (1957) [fa] - A well meaning tutor struggles to educate Baby Huey.
MYSTERIOUS FIRES (1957) [cp] - In this medieval-era toon, Gumby the knight battles a dragon that's setting wheat field fires.
FRIGHT TO THE FINISH (1954) [fa] - Bluto plays mean tricks on Popeye and tries to scare Olive on Halloween.
ALI-BABA BOUND (1940) [wb] - Porky and his camel defend an abandoned destert fort against Ali Baba and his Dirty Sleeves.
A SWISS TRICK (1931) [vb] - Mountain climbing leaves Tom and Jerry stranded and hungry.
MOLLY MOO-COW AND THE INDIANS (1935) [vb] - Molly and other animals travel cross-country by wagon train and have an adventure at an Indian camp.
